Day Twenty-Nine: Practice Gratitude

If we can cultivate gratitude, and focus on the things we do have, our lives will improve. Multiple studies have been done on the effects of gratitude and the findings are fascinating. Benefits such as greater happiness, enhanced positive emotions, increased likeability, improved relationships, increased optimism, reduced depression and blood pressure, and increased overall health are just a few. Practicing gratitude is powerful, and changes us for the better.

Meditation: Listen to this meditation: Gratitude Meditation

Activity: Find a place in the wild where you can practice gratitude. Walk slowly through the space and offer gratitude to all that you come across. Thank the earth for supporting you under your feet. Thank the trees for making the oxygen you breathe. Thank the sun for the warmth you feel on your face. Thank the sky for the rain that waters your plants. Thak the birds for the songs they sing. Thank the bugs for the role they play in the ecosystem. Continue to thank all of the wild and the entire universe for the gifts you have received and the magic it provides. 

 
Write in your journal the following:
  1.  What other things do I have to be grateful for in my life?
  2. Who am I grateful for in my life?
  3. What am I grateful for about myself?
 
Share: Share one thing you are grateful for in the Facebook group.


Affirmation: Recite the following affirmation out loud: “I am thankful for….(fill in the blank with what you’re thankful for”.
