Day Two: Conscious Connecting
If you’ve been disconnected from the wild for a while, you may need to create a new relationship with it. Just like a relationship you begin with a friend or a lover, it starts by getting to know each other and building the relationship with a strong foundation. This is done by conscious connecting- a form of intentional connection that allows us to feel and experience that person, place, or thing. This connection brings a deep awareness of our own joy and bliss.
Listen to the following meditation: Connect With the Nature Inside of You by Loula Taylor
Activity: Find a place in nature where you can start building your relationship by consciously connecting. Take a seat or lie down somewhere in this space where you can interact with different elements around you (trees, rocks, creek, etc). Treat this place like you would treat a new friend or a lover that you are trying to get to know and build a relationship with. Start by introducing yourself and ask for permission to connect. Discover how the energy feels to you and notice all of the nuances around you- the color of the sky, how the ground feels beneath you, the smell of the trees, and the sound of the wind. Try to consciously connect with each thing you see, a tree, a creek, a rock, even if it’s just acknowledging them. Pay attention to how each item feels energetically to you. Consciously connecting to each item and the space as a whole will build the relationship you have with it. It will create a deep sense of connectedness and enhance your well being and energy. Stay as long as you wish, getting to know the wild again. When you are ready to leave, thank the wild for your time together.
Write in your journal the following:
Share: Share a photo of something you felt most connected to in the Facebook group.
Recite the following affirmation out loud: ”I am able to consciously connect to the wild and rebuild the relationship that has been forgotten.”

Write in your journal the following:
- What did you feel most connected to?
- How did you feel when you were connecting with each item? Did it feel different to connect to one item over another (did the rock feel different than the tree)?
- Was any part of this uncomfortable for you? If yes, what part(s)? Sometimes things that are uncomfortable for us may reveal an internal blockage. By acknowledging it and choosing to let it go can help release that blockage and create space for new experiences to come in.
